💡 Did you know that… Van Gogh wasn’t just a brilliant painter, but also a master at coming up with creative solutions. He added an extra piece of wood on top of his painting ‘Sunflowers’.
Research confirmed that the wooden strip, painted yellow and fixed to the top of the canvas, is an original extension of the composition. This means that Van Gogh himself added the strip during the painting process.
But why? Van Gogh probably wanted to create more space around the sunflowers, so he creatively added the wooden strip to fix the narrow composition. 🌻
